What is HEMP?
Hemp is one of the few plants whose by-products can either be eaten, sat on, written on, worn, slathered on your body, painted on a wall or squirted into a machine! Also the entire plant can be used, from seed to foliage, for use in such diverse products as building materials, paper and foods. The cultivation of hemp for industrial purposes has been done by many civilizations for over 12,000 years. Industrial hemp was the desired fibre used to manufacture rope, canvas, paper, and clothing until alternative textiles and synthetics for these purposes were discovered.

What is Hemp Fabric?
Hemp fabric is a sustainable textile made of fibres of a very high-yielding crop in the cannabis sativa plant family. Historically used for industrial purposes, like rope and sails, hemp is known as one of the most versatile and durable natural fibers.
Hemp has 8x the tensile strength of other natural fibers making it the perfect choice for everyday use. Hemp fabric on it’s own has a tendency to be rough to the touch, so we designed our hemp fabric with a blend of hemp and other natural fibres.
It’s important when buying sustainable fabrics to make sure the dyes and water used are managed properly to minimize the environmental impact. All of our textiles are made with Natural dyes and printed with water based Inks.
Benefits of Hemp Fabric:
Durable and long lasting
4x the durability of other natural fibers
Sustainable and renewable, high-yield crop
In addition to these benefits, our hemp fabric is machine washable and gets better over time. The more you use hemp fabric and wash it the more malleable and softer it will become.
It packs excellent antimicrobial properties which make it last longer than any other textile fiber like cotton, polyester, etc. Hemp clothes don’t become distorted even after multiple uses and washes.
It protects you from the harmful UV rays. Overexposure to the harmful sun rays can cause skin cancer and many other irreversible skin problems. Sun protective clothing can save your skin!
Hemp as a fabric holds up really well. It’s easy on the skin too. Hemp is really breathable. The fabric absorbs sweat well and it’s also easy to dye. It’s resistant to fading. Hemp clothing doesn’t abrase easily.
FIBRE ON THE PLANET
hemp fibre holds the fabric tight and tough! This makes hemp an abrasion-resistant fabric
Other than being incredibly durable, hemp fabric also fights against microbes. If you have a bad odour, then hemp clothing might help you. It prevents the growth of odour-causing bacteria.
BETTER WITH EVERY WASH
Hemp clothes are incredibly comfortable to wear. The thing that makes it even more fascinating is that with every wash, you’ll feel the cloth getting softer (but not weaker).
